Below was our route for today.
We left Cincinnati early this morning and headed South. Of course as soon as we got across the bridge into Kentucky, it began raining. There is something about me traveling on I-75 in KY and it always pouring rain. Read more
We stopped off at the Mellow Mushroom Pizza Place in Knoxville to sync up with my dear friend from high school, Christine. She brought her 4 kids with her and the kids got along great. Since I don’t keep in touch with many from my high school, it was great to catch up with Chris. I just love her to death… like the sister I never had..
We then headed down to Atlanta, Georgia and visited the World Of Coca-Cola. What a cool place!. The kids and Heather and I got to experience our 1st 4D experience. I really don’t get the difference between 3D, but oh well. Before we left, we sample cola from all over the world. I can tell you that some of it is just plain nasty. Interestingly enough, my favorite was one called ICE from Korea. Sorta a Mt Dew with a bit of mint. After all that syrup sitting in our stomachs, we decided to take a walk over to Centennial Olympic Park.
The girls had a good time playing in the Ring Fountain while Trevor joined a pick-up soccer game with several other kids. Heather and I enjoyed being the spectators.
However we had our ongoing issue with dinner. It is so strange, but of all our travels in the past month, arranging dinner has been the hardest part. Whether the grill closed early in YellowStone, or the buffet ended in Vegas, or we just lost track of time at the Grand Canyon, we can’t seem to make time for dinner. Tonight was the same. We ended up spending too much time at the World of Coke and the Park that we looked at our clock and it is past 8pm. Since we wanted to get a little more driving in, McD’s was what we had to settle for while in transit. Amazing that we can’t figure this out yet.
Tomorrow we head to the Beach!
