Below was our route for today.
Heather here. I am blogging tonight so our chaffeur, Trent can rest.
Oh the winds in Texas! We started the day in San Antonio with a quick breakfast and left early for Waco. We made a quick stop at the University of Texas to take in the sights as it was right off the interstate. Big state school feel with a great stadium. Trev and Tay said it isn’t a good fit for them. Back on track to Waco, we landed first at Magnolia Farms, the store of Chip and Joanna Gaines from the HDTV show, Fixer Upper. It was a fun set up at the Silos with family green space, a bakery, food trucks and a beautiful store. It was packed! There were hundreds of people. All in all it was put together very well but we decided we should have hit the store first and eat somewhere else next time as the lines for food were long.
We went to take picture at the Waco suspension bridge. It is a really cool bridge with impressive bronze statues of longhorn cattle and cowboys positioned at the entrance. We drove under the highway to Baylor University. What a beautiful campus! Back on the road north, we stopped at TCU for a walk across campus. Another beautiful campus with modern building and covered walkways.
We then made our way through Dallas to Frisco to have dinner with cousin Tammy and her husband Elving and kids Zach and Ashely at the La Hacienda Ranch Tex Mex Restaurant. We then got a jump and headed east towards Oklahoma, where Trevor entered his 48th state.
