No major driving today.
The past few day we have been at the beaches and the pool. We stayed around Holmes Beach mostly on Monday but yesterday we took the short drive to LongBoat Key & Venice Beach. Venice Beach is one of the better beaches to find sharks teeth, and good shells. Read more
The kids (and moms) ended up shelling most of the day while Jim & I took a nap on the beach. They ended up finding about 6 shark’s teeth, and one was a pretty good size. From looking around, some people took it pretty serious with all their metal strainers, and such. Some even dug huge holes and were searching down there. We didn’t care that much.
After that we went and played putt-putt at the Smugglers Cove. The kids fed the alligators first. I had low score for the group of 3 over par with back to back hole in ones. Trevor came in 2nd, followed by Sara.
We came back and hit the pools for a little while and then headed to the City Pier for Dinner. We took the poles and fished a bit off the pier while we waited on our table. The Alaskan King Crabs interestingly enough were pretty good at the City Pier Restaurant. I didn’t expect that. Trevor tried the lobster-bisque soup (after a lot of convincing), and really liked it.
Tomorrow we are scheduled to go out on the Kaleta Boston Whaler Boat and have dinner on the other side of the island. More then….
Below I thought I would brag a little of the Kaleta’s and the job they did on this house. They bought it about 5 years ago and have been renovating it for the past couple. Right now one side is completely renovated (added over 1000 sq ft.), and the other is scheduled for this fall. It reminds me of the old show on HDTV Before n After that I used to watch. Check out the photos.

14 Jul 2010See that you are on the road again now! wow – love the ocean family pix – too cute! Bet you miss the mountains, though (or at least, hopefully the Skarda’s). 😉 Call me when you get back…or when Heather needs to kill some time driving home!
