Today was our last day to fish. Many of the guys got up early and headed back to Red Lodge and Rock Creek. Todd and I were at a slower pace than the others so we grabbed breakfast at Denny’s and met up with the rest of the guys. I hadn’t been to Denny’s in years. Read more
Our new fishing spot is called Water Birch. Chris cleaned house catching fish today with over 15 fish (we joked he caught the same one…). Todd and I spent hours trying to catch an 8” trout that was pissing us off. Todd ultimately got him on the line, but we never were able to reel him in.
Todd and I left early to go back and make the “ladies” dinner. On the menu, we had a very healthy guys meal – beer brats, baked beans, nacho dip, and corn on the cob… and some bourbon and scotch to wash it down! Yes, we all paid for it later that night.
Todd had the closing ceremony of GAFIA by presenting the most fish award to Chris. Needless to say, this was another great fly fishing trip in Montana. Next August is already booked!
