Below was our route for today.
We got up around 8:00a and took the short walk down to the Maid of the Mist dock. It was sprinkling a bit, but nothing major. The view from the Maid of the Mist was pretty amazing. Read more
I truly couldn’t believe how close to the rocks of the Falls the boat got. When we were the closest, it was like being in a bad rain storm. Very cool experience though.
We then walked down Falls View blvd towards the Journey of the Falls area. It is a nice walk with parks and a botanical garden. Depending on where you are whether you are in front of the American Falls orthe Candian Horseshoe Falls, the view is quite unique. We thought about eating at the restaurant overlooking the Falls, but elected to walk back down towards Victoria Ave and ended up having lunch at Boston Pizza. The wings weren’t too bad. We watched Tiger Woods fall apart in the British Open which Phil Mickelson later won.
We decided to head towards home in the early afternoon. It took us over an hour to get across the bridge and through customs. On the way home, we stopped by Mercyhurst University where I began my college days. The weather got progressively worse as we got closer to Cincinnati, but we ultimately got home past midnight.
A pretty incredible trip of the New England area that the kids won’t soon forget…
