Below was our route for today.
Arrived into New Orleans and headed right over to the French quarter and Bourbon Street. Had seafood at Oceana restaurant. We all had seafood which was good, but Tay almost lost it when her shrimp came out with legs. Mom peeled the shrimp and removed the legs and all then seemed ok… for a little while anyway. Read more
Walked over to Jackson Square, and admired the beautiful St. Louis Cathedral. Then we walked down to the RiverPark and took a carriage ride around the city (video). Really cool history. After the ride, we went to Cafe du Monde and had some wonderful beignets. At Cafe du Monde, there was a fun powder sugar fight between Trevor and mom. Trevor though it would be cute to do the “fake sneeze” and get powder sugar on mom. Mom decided to take the whole plate of powder sugar and just dump it on Trevor. Don’t mess with mom… Tess then performed like a local in Jackson Square (video).
Afterwards we went to Pat O’ Briens and got their signature drink, Hurricane. We considered watching a show at Preservation Hall next door, but the line was long and we would have had to wait in it for an hour. So we decided to walk around more and quickly realized that we needed to get Tess out of the French quarter since “the freaks came out at night. Had a late dinner at Reginellis, awesome pizza.
