In Spain, I would fly into Madrid. Rent a car (drivers are insane), and take in the sites of nearby Segovia and Toledo. Also be sure to stop by the Prado Museum (el museo de Prado). Stop in a local joint and ask for a ‘cafe solo’.Read more
My views on Madrid and surrounding areas: Spain is my favorite country I have ever been to. It may be in part because I can somewhat speak their language, but I just really enjoy going there. The beauty of the cobblestone streets in the middle of mountain villages with rivers running through them is just amazing to see. Also the people are just so friendly and welcoming (unlike France).
