we stopped half way thru kayaking at a beach for lunch. we hung out for a couple hours then kayaked the remaining way. i got SO sunburnt because i didnt know that New Zealand is the number one place in the world for sun intensity. burn time is 10 min and melanoma skin cancer is the number one reason for death in NZ. then we got back and changed into our hiking gear. we went for a 3 hour hike and little did we know that we were going to run into a big problem by the end. we get back to the vans and realize we r missing kennedy.
everyone starts freaking out and carter starts hiking the trails again to find her. it was starting to get dark and everyone was really worried. we finally found out her whereabouts after 2 hours of noticing that she was missing. it took carter a couple hours to actually meet up with her and then 3 hours to hike back to the vans from where they were at. IT WAS CRAZY. some of us went back while everyone else stayed there to help. me and some other people went back to shower and make dinner. ellie make tacos and ryan made burgers and i ate some ice cream and went to sleep.
