This year prior to our Montana fly fishing week with our Bourbon & Brats group, my friend, Tim Conley and I flew out a few days early to spend some time at Grand Tetons National Park and YellowStone National Park. Read more
A few years back I took a bunch of our group to YellowStone since I had been there a few times and we only got to see part of the upper loop. This year we are going to see it all. We were delayed twice out of Atlanta, finally arriving into Jackson Hole, Wyoming around 9p, 90 minutes late. We were actually lucky to get out of Atlanta due to weather and overbooking. The airline was offering $1,100 + hotel + food to leave the same time next day. We wanted no part of that offer. Due to our flight delay, we missed our dinner reservation at The Gun Barrel Steak & Game House. Instead we had dinner at The Lodge at Jackson Hole, where we were staying. I had a great waygu burger and Tim had fish and chips. The Jackson Hole square seems to close early around 10p each night, but we found the Silver Dolla Saloon open so we stopped in for a few drinks. We then walked around Jackson Hole a bit and got our picture by the well-known arch of antlers which is located at each of the four entrances to the Jackson Square. Time to turn in as tomorrow is the Grand Teton National Park.
