Below was our route for today.
Had breakfast and headed towards Houston. Our friends, Kevin and Erin Young told us about the Rainbow Bridge since they used to live in Houston, so we took a detour to go over it. Of course, we experienced another Clark W. Griswold moment as the Rainbow Bridge was closed for some maintenance. Luckily there was a bridge next to it which was open and actually allowed us to get better pictures of it than going over it. Read more
We were beginning to get hungry again so we stopped to see what all the hype was with Whattaburger. I guess it was fine. It was a pretty big flat burger, but the taste won’t be remembered as too different from any other burger.
We soon arrived into Houston and headed over to NRG Stadium for our FIRST RODEO (video). We have traveled through Wyoming, Montana, etc. and have never made it to a rodeo. It didn’t disappoint at all. Very cool to watch the professional rodeo.
After the rodeo, ZZ Top took the stage. It was a great show, and the kids really enjoyed it as well. After the concert we headed back to where we were dropped off earlier, and soon learned that the shuttle service ended at 9p. After a bit of craziness with the hotel manager, we were taken back and turned in for the evening.
