Below was our route for today.
We all got to sleep in today and there were no complaints. Heather had her conference until 11:30, so the kids and I just hung around the room, starting packing, and took it easy. When Heather arrived, we finished packing and then loaded up the van and headed over to the Inner Harbor one last time. Mom wanted to see Federal Hill Park so we went up there, bought a hawaiian ice, and then the kids got some some souvenirs. We then headed south towards Harpers Ferry. Read more
We arrived into Harpers Ferry within an hour. However on the way, there was a stretch where we went through Maryland, West Virginia, and then Virginia within 5 minutes. Pretty crazy actually. We arrived at the park and Heather went into the visitor center to get the scoop. Since we had Brody and dogs aren’t allowed on the shuttle to the lower town, Tess and I had to drop everyone off and then take the shuttle down on our own.
We all met up and visited John Brown Fort and the Pointe. The girls took Tess in one of the museums and dressed her up like a former resident. She looked so funny. We then all walked across the bridge along the train tracks. Trev & Tay went across the rocks to explore a bit further where the rest of us stayed behind. On the bridge we saw a group of people laying on tubes with a cooler dragging behind. Man, have to do that next time. The current did all the work! We then walked back across the bridge to the little town.
We walked around for a little while and then stopped and got some ice cream. After awhile it was getting late, so the teens and I took the shuttle up to get the van and mom and Tess went to Jefferson Rock.
Since it was getting dark, we headed back to the hotel. We really wanted to get some good sleep for tomorrow, so we had a nice dinner at Cracker Barrel and then turned in for the evening..
