We slept in a bit and then got up and had an awful hotel breakfast and headed east on Highway 50 towards Utah. Our first stop was Great Basin National Park. Read more
After entering the park, we took the very scenic drive on the Wheeler Peak Loop. It was about 12 miles with a final destination of an elevation of over 10,000 feet. Along the drive, we stopped at the Osceola Ditch Trail and hiked the 1/3 mile to the overlook. The trail was very rocky and certain places where walking next to drop off cliffs was a bit unnerving.
The Lehman Caves were closed due to Covid-19 so we drove more through the park on our way to the Utah state line. We continued our way to Salt Lake City and stopped at a BW3 for a quick bite before meeting Red at the SLC airport to return the car.
We then headed to Park City. After a quick tour of Red’s house and the surrounding area, we sat in the back chairs overlooking the golf course and scenic mountain view. Red had some studying to do so I did some work and Trev played on his phone before turning in for the evening.
