Below was our route for today.

LEG1 OF OUR TRIP COMPLETE! Read more
We left Kansas City yesterday morning and began the final leg home. We stopped in St. Louis and toured the Gateway Arch. Since we were there, we decided to go to the top. Not something I would recommend….
The only way to the top is through crowded HOT capsules. You also have to wait at least 45 minutes as they route you through museum, gift shop, show you a movie of the inventor of the Arch, etc. It is not a place for people with claustrophobia.
We then had lunch at Pappy’s BBQ. It was worth the stop, and highly recommended. We initially were going to stay over in St. Louis, but since we were only 5 hours from home, we headed home last night. We got in about 11p or so (we lost an hour to EST). Then everyone went straight to bed.
It is nice to be home, but we had an amazing first leg of our trip. The kids were surprisingly well-behaved for the most part, and even Tessie wasn’t as bad as we expected. Everyone really had a great trip, and now have a lot of great memories.
Thanks for following along with us so far, we leave for the 2nd leg of our trip next week!

30 Jun 2010What an excellent adventure these last few days for you all. I loved the river rafting…outstanding and way too funny dumping you. Only a guy as big as Jonathan would dare try such a thing. I love their place and the picture of the boys on the four wheelers is fantastic. I am truly jealous. Gotta love the Colorado scene. God bless. Randy
