Below was our route for today.
NOTE TO PARENT & FRIENDS — WE ARE ALIVE AND WELL!!
Heather and I and the kids are alive and well. We have been staying the last few days with our friends, Jonathan & Kristi Hayes at their ranch in Colorado. Read more
Unfortunately we have no cell service for Heather’s Sprint or my AT&T phone (Kristi, no Iphone for you). We also “sporadic” internet connections when the clouds are at certain coordinate and the rain is more than 30 minutes away, and the wind is less than 8 mph…. in short, no internet either for the most part. We just realized we have had no contact with any family or friends over the past few days, nor have been able to check email or voicemail.
I have already completed the entries from the few days – Sand Dunes Park, and whitewater rafting in Colorado with the Hayes’s, however there is no way to post until later this evening when we are in Kansas. Check back tomorrow morning for all the updates.
We are making our big push east towards home….
We left the beautiful ranch this morning and began our big push East. The plan was to stop in Topeka, but the kids were asleep so we drove on to Kansas City, MO. It was one of the most boring drives of the trip.
I did finally turn the wheel over to Heather for the drive from Topeka, KS to Kansas City so I could get some work done. I had driven just under 5,000 straight miles to that point. No pictures for this entry.
Tomorrow we head for St. Louis, MO and will be touring the top of the Gateway Arch…

30 Jun 2010OK, so when are you going to realize that the only wireless service provider in the boondocks is Verizon?? 😉 Those of us who spend our whole lives in the boondocks know. Good to hear from y’all. Keep on havin’ fun. Are you in the mini-van, or did you rent an RV for this excursion?
