We got up real EARLY today and walked across the street to Disneyland’s California Adventure Park. We were one of the first ones in line and headed straight to the CARS area. Read more
We rode the CARS racers ride and it was really cool. It had all the scenery from the movie, including the bridge and waterfall. We then walked back towards the entrance of the park to go to one of my favorite Disney rides, Soarin. This was a bit different from the one at Disneyworld because it included a trip around the world. It included views of Sydney Harbor, Australia. Victoria Falls in Africa, The Great Wall of China, Paris, Tahiti and so on.
We then headed over to Toy Story Mania where the kids rode a neat roller coaster. We then all got on the huge Ferris Wheel. The kids got in the car that swung back and forth but mom and I settled with the one that didn’t swing at all. No use getting sick this early in the day. .
After all the rides, we went back to the CARS area to ride some of the smaller rides and get some good photos. The first one was Luigi’s Dance ride. All the cars were choreagraphed and were dancing salsa like a human would. We then went to Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree. We grabbed some Asian lunch and a bit of ice cream. It appears the thing we really fail to consider on our trips is the food part, and we just grab food when we can. .
Next stop was the Redwood Challenge Trail. It reminded me of the ‘Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground’ at Disney World. There was rock climbing rope stairs, zip line, slides, etc. We all took part in the fun, and I was reminded that I am no longer a young man.
To relax inside a bit, we headed over to the Hyperion Theatre to watch a production of Frozen. It was absolutely amazing! The actors and actresses were awesome, the animation and aerial work was cool, and the hour long production seemed like it could have gone longer . The kids then went to the Tower of Terror, we all went and rode the Monsters, Inc ride and then left the park briefly for a re-charge and nice dinner at nearby Tony Roma’s.
Around 7:30 we walked back over to Disneyland and stopped and had Ghirardelli ice cream prior to the World of Color Night Show and Fireworks Spectacular.
Catalina Island tomorrow…
