Friday (3/30)
We checked out at 5:30 and headed towards St. Augustine, FL. We had been there years before with Trev, but the other kids weren’t born yet. About two hours later we arrived into the OLDEST CITY in the USA. So much character there. We stopped by the Castillo de San Marcos and walked around a bit but it didn’t officially open for another hour so we didn’t wait around. Read more
On the way out, we went by Flagler College. What a beautiful campus… Heather’s friend’s daughter is considering there and HPU. We got some breakfast at Chick Fila and headed up I-95 towards South Carolina. At around 1:30p, I let Taylor drive as she still needs about 15 hours for her license.
She took us to our next stop – Congaree National Park. It was a smaller park that sort of reminded us of The Everglades without the humidity and insects. We took a couple mile hike around the park and was able to stay on a cool boardwalk. Then it was time to get back on the road. I took over driving again and we immediately hit traffic. It was a long trek home, but we walked in the house around 2a. Started the day at 5:30a, and ended it at 2a.
All in all, the weather was in the mid 80’s all week and little to no rain so it was another great trip to Florida.
