Tuesday (3/27)
The alarm went off at 5 and we were on the road at 5:30 in order to drop Brody off in Tampa at Camp Bow Wow for the day. Brody had to pass a quick interview meaning they threw him in with 10 dogs and see if he played nicely. Well, he did a great job and quickly made lots of new friends. We then headed to the causeway…over to Clearwater. We didn’t hit much traffic and made it to the beach and found a parking garage by the Frenchy’s gift shop. Read more
We grabbed our beach gear and headed over to find a spot. We rented a cabana and chairs for the day ($40). We happened to look over and Kelly Day was 4 cabanas down. Taylor caught up with Sarah and Liz, along with lots of senior girls from CHCA who were also in Clearwater Beach.
We were watching the clock to make sure we made it to lunch at 11:00 sharp at Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill. Heather, Tess and Luis and I took the Day’s with us and landed a great seat overlooking the beach. We got our drinks and placed our order. The waitress returned with one of three cups of soup and bad news. There was apparently a gas problem on the island and they could not cook anything. We said we would wait a bit and she went to find more soup. The manager then appeared and informed all of the tables that they were clearing the restaurant and we could pay our bill and leave… only we hadn’t gotten to eat!
Oh well, so close and a funny story. We wandered back to our beach chairs as there was no food to be found. It was a beautiful day to spend at a beautiful beach. We packed up about 4p to pick Brody up on our way back to Orlando.
