Below was our route for today.

We slept in a bit again, and headed to Cape Cod in the late morning. We had a goal to get to Provincetown, Massachusetts or “P-town as the locals refer to it” and had some apprehension of what the kids would witness since it is frequently populated by homosexuals. Read more
Actually, they were there, but it wasn’t too much of an issue where the kids were asking a lot of questions or pointing.
On our way to P-Town, we stopped at the Nauset Light House. Since we knew were going to see more further out on the Cape, we just stayed there a short while. We then headed out to the Highland Lighthouse and took in the magnificent views from the observation deck. In the pictures below, you will see a path of sand that leads down to a beach. This created a lot of drama for us. First, Trevor tried to jump over the fence to get a picture and cut his leg up on the wire. Then I just tried to walk down the sand path to the water, and by the time I got to the water, I had a large blister on the bottom of my foot due to how hot the sand was. We stayed there a short while, and since we were read for lunch, we headed into P-Town.
The town was really neat, and I am glad we made the trek. We grabbed an EXPENSIVE bite at the Lobster Pot, and then walked down the Pier at bit. The views were incredible. After walking off our big lunch, we headed to Head of the Meadow Beach to hang out. The beach actually had what I would refer to as a deep tide pool, and the girls braved the 62 degree water to get to the other side. Since mom didn’t have her bathing suit on, I just went ahead and went in with my shorts. It was about 50 40 yards long, and I could touch all but 10 ft of it. When we got to the other side, we saw a number of seals hanging out in the shallow water doing their gymnastics, aerobics, and water activities. It was neat to see. We didn’t get any pics of that because we didn’t want to brave the camera over the tide pool.
We stayed on the Cape tonight in Hyannis, and leave for the Ferry from Woods Hole early tomorrow morning for Martha’s Vineyard…
