Saturday 4/8
The traffic on the way down Manatee Blvd was the worst I had ever seen. It took us 3 hours to get from Orlando to the beachhouse but the 90 degree sunny weather made it all worth it.. Spent the whole day at the beach. Had dinner at Bridge Tinder Inn Tiki Bar. It was a perfect evening, nice breeze, great tunes, and food wasn’t too bad at all. We came back and walked across the street to the beach at night to check out the sky. We walked back across the street and went to bed around midnight.
Sunday 4/9
The plan was to get up at 5a and attend the Easter church service on AMI Beach, near the Beach Cafe. Mom was the only one that got up and made it to the service. When she came back, the annual McCracken Easter Scavenger Hunt took place for Tessa and Delaney. We then drove to AMI Beach Cafe to park and then got on the trolley to grab some donuts at The Donut Experiment. After getting off the trolley on Pine Ave, the place was closed for Easter! Man, what a bummer Read more
We then decided to walk down Pine Ave and stop by the old AMI jail and walk out to the Rod & Steel Pier at the Anna Maria Island Pier. We then walked back up Pine Ave and took the trolley back to the Beach Cafe. We had a great breakfast of all you can eat pancakes, and then eggs, bacon, eggs Benedict and sausage gravy and biscuits. To work off the big meal, we grabbed the volleyball and started playing volleyball, then the rain came! Oh, man did it. We all got drenched and kept playing volleyball. It was so fun.
Since the rain was going to last a bit, we drove back to Bradenton Beach and played some games at the house while the weather passed. Within an hour or so, the rain was gone and the sun came back so Heather and the girls walked back to the beach while I stayed behind and did some work.
We went to the AMI staple, Skinny’s for dinner, and then came back and walked around Bradenton Beach for souvenirs. Heading back to Orlando tomorrow. AMI never disappoints, but we are never coming in the month of March again!
Monday 4/10
We got up and packed up and then drove down to The Donut Experiment. After breakfast, we went to the beach for a bit and then headed back to Orlando.
