Sunday (8/3)We decided to leave around 5:30a and arrived into Atlanta around 2p. We did our traditional stop at Bucee’s. Earlier we had booked a condo that was a block away from the show’s venue, so we checked in and then Tessa had a pre-show event so she headed over to the Atlanta Aloft hotel and Heather and I walked the few blocks to Centennial Park. We had both been to Centennial Park when we went to the Olympics together in 1996, one week before the bomb blew up there. We have both been to the park since then, but never together.
It turned out the Manchester United played that night so it got very crowded very quickly. We initially wanted to go to Margaritaville, but the wait was going to be too long. We ended up finding another pub a little further down the street named Hudson Grille and we grabbed dinner while Tessa was at her event.
After dinner, we met back up with Tessa and headed back to the condo for the night.
Monday (8/4) – Friday 8/8)
We took the short walk with Tessa over to the Marketplace each morning and then walked back to the condo. Since this is not a vacation week for Heather and I, we spent most of the days working while Tessa spent all day at the show. We did have some nice dinners together each night. Monday – Hard Rock Cafe, Tuesday – Max Lagers Wood Fire Grill, Wednesday – Ordered in, Thursday – McCormick and Schmicks, and then walked around Centennial Park areas with Tessa. Since Tessa only worked until noon on Friday, Heather and I drove over to Piedmont Park and rented scooters to see all the updates to the park. We then picked Tessa up from the show and headed back north. A great little get-away and a memorable modeling experience for Tessa!
