I was meeting some friends/clients from Chile and Peru in Miami during the annual LATAM conference so I spent a week in the Miami area. A really good friend of mine, Todd just moved his business to Miami so I was able to catch up with him and we had an absolute blast. I am now considering expanding my business to Miami. Read more
Tuesday 6/24
My flight arrived in the evening and after Todd picked me up, he, I, and Bridget went to check out a burger place, Juanchi’s. The burgers were good, but the milkshakes were even better. We then headed over to Sloan’s for some ice cream. Apparently there are only a few other franchises for the place and the other two are in Dubai and Las Vegas. After ice cream, we walked around the area a bit and ended up at the Doral Bar to have some late night cocktails and then grabbed some churros on the way back to the condo.
Wednesday 6/25
Today was a work day in downtown Miami for the LATAM conference. Todd and I grabbed Starbucks at the Bayshore Landing Marina, and then I headed downtown. In the evening, Todd and Bridget took me over to CityPlace Doral. It is a nice area with retail and a cool bowling alley.
Thursday 6/26
We got up and went to the Original Pancake House for breakfast. Todd had some business in the Sunny Isles Beach area today. He dropped me off at the Haulover Park beach and I spent a few hours there during his meeting. Be sure to go left from the parking lot. I had a few calls in the afternoon, so I spent most of the afternoon in the condo’s executive center, which is really nice. We had Italian dinner at the Gusto Ristobar.
Friday 6/27
We got up and headed over to Trump National Doral for lunch. It had been a few years since I had been here, so it was nice to see how things have changed. After lunch we headed to the pool for most of the day. After being worn out by the heat, we Doordashed Piola’s Pizza for dinner.
Saturday 6/28
We got up in the morning and went to Biscayne National Park.
In the afternoon, we went to the Rusty Pelican as there was the Memorial Day air and water show. We ended up being a little further out that we thought, but still got to see the jets. Todd’s driver, Jorge joined us for a nice meal of grilled octopus, steak, and crab cakes. They had bottomless mimosas with 4 different types, so I made it through 5 of them.
After lunch, Jorge drove us to Biscayne Island. I wasn’t even aware this existed, and it was a really cool island. There is a state park there with a really nice beach too.
Afterwards we went back to Doral and spent most of the day at the pool.
Sunday 6/29
Early flight out so back to Cincy!
