We had planned to wade in the Stillwater River today. On the way to the river, we stopped at the angler shop we went to last year and it is now permanently closed. We were then directed to the East Rosebud Fly & Tackle shop and met our new buddy, Dan. I bought a new Echo 6 weight rod and line, and Tim bought a very expensive Sage rod and reel. Read more
We then drove separate to get to the Stillwater River and on the way the car with Dean, Chris, and Tim called us to say that the road was closed due to a fire. But when they came back to us we realized they went a different way. We tried our way and arrived at the river and fished for about 5 hours. Then Todd, Dave and I tried another small fishing spot we saw on the way to Stillwater for another few hours. The other guys went to try to find some food for us for dinner. After looking as we were driving back to Billings, we saw a BW3 sign and directed the cars there to get some wings and beers. Tomorrow we float the BigHorn River.
