Sunday 6/14

We left early a little before 5a and were going to drive straight through, but take our time as well.  We stopped and had some  biscuits and gravy at Dunkin Donut’s in KY. Later we stopped at Lane’s Southern Orchard for peaches and tried their peach cobbler for lunch (near Macon). Tay drove for a while and we rolled into Orlando around 7pm. We unpacked and went to get something to eat – Rocco’s Tacos – yum. The groceries close early due to Covid-19, so have to try to get groceries tomorrow. Long day of travel, so we are turned in.

Monday 6/15

We all slept in, and then I got up and worked for a little while. We then went to Publix to get groceries. We then hung out at the pool for a few hours (only 2 of the 4 pools were open).  It was a beautiful day to just lay around in the sun.  After pool, we went shopping at the Outlets (which was huge), and then came back and made dinner. We bought sweet corn in GA with the peaches, but the corn in Georgia wasn’t sweet! We walked around the large resort and played a little soccer and then went to bed.

Tuesday 6/16

We all got up and ate breakfast. Headed over to cocoa beach…arrived about 10:30. We shopped at Ron Jon and then hit the beach. We had a quick bite at 7-11 for lunch: slurpees and some chicken rollers 🤪. The waves were pretty big and the red flags were out for a while. There was talk of some shark sightings as well. Once the flags went to yellow we headed out for some body surfing and Tess had a blast. Drove back and made dinner. Turned in after some rummy.

Wednesday 6/17

The girls slept in. I worked and had my work review, and all went well. After lunch, we went to Disney springs for the afternoon. It was very quiet. Face masks and temp checks required. It was nice quiet shopping and the area looks beautiful. Picked up Chinese food on the way back. Went for a walk and started to rain and Tess and Tay had a race back. Tay won.

Thursday 6/18

We drove back over to cocoa beach after the girls slept in a bit and I worked. We ate lunch at Florida Seafood in Cocoa Beach. We went back to Ron Jon for pics and then the beach. Walked to pier and swam most of the day. Headed back before the rain hit. Got caught in a huge downpour just before we got off the highway. Had Applebees for dinner and played more cards (rummy).

Friday 6/19

There was a good chance of pop of showers most of the day so we started off playing tennis and then hit the pool at the resort most of the day. For dinner, we decided to eat what we had left in the fridge and then we walked down to check out a nature trail that we saw earlier.  The walk was longer than we thought and it was kinda secluded and dark so we decided to turn around.  We played soccer instead. We came back and decided to pack up and head back early tomorrow morning..
